Carbonated Water Making Headlines Again
The industry is up to $2.2 Billion a year and still growing. Seltzer, club soda, and sparkling water are up double digits as more Americans turn away from soda and other sugary drinks. Variations in intensity (size of the bubble) as well as hints of flavors are adding to the category growth.

Is This A New Way To Sell Water?
Are we selling water, or alcohol here? Spiked Still Water! Okay, well isn’t beer “still” water with barley and hops? Or perhaps soda, “still” water with sugar and flavoring, and maybe some carbonation? Or perhaps, vodka, primarily ethanol and “still” water. This goes to show just how much marketing can do for a product. It also shows just how gullible the consumer may be? Pura Still contains 4.5% alcohol by volume…we’ll call it a “flat beer”.

What's In A Name?
Or should we ask, What’s in the water?

In The Learning Corner
Do You Know What This Is?
It’s teaching us about physics and gravity. This picture shows not only a water drop but also an air bubble inside of the water drop. This picture comes from NASA, and was taken in space, and of course, zero gravity. According to the laws of physics (in space), both droplets form spheres, which is a shape having the least amount of surface area. On Earth, gravity would distort the shape, and the air bubble, lighter than water, would race upward to burst through the surface of the droplet.
In space, the air bubble doesn't rise because it is no lighter than the water around it—there's no buoyancy. The droplet doesn't fall from the leaf because there's no force to pull it off. It's stuck there by molecular adhesion.
